Some of the main founders of Wheellove, Kellen Smith and Scot Mills, have been instrumental in getting this program up and running for our SCI community. Kellen works at Carilion Clinic and has been working closely with other therapists and management to make clinic days like this happen. Scot, who is a ReWalker himself has offered countless hours of demonstration and mentorship to future ReWalkers. See the link below for details from a recent clinic day!
Please join us for the second annual wheelchair basketball event to be held at Roanoke College on July the 28th. The event is from 1-4pm. The Roanoke Stars and other teams will be on hand for games and skills demonstration. The event if for anyone interested in learning about the game of wheelchair basketball. We will have volunteers to assist with transfers into/out of chairs as well as help anyone who needs it to play! Look for our official flyer to be posted in the coming days!
Wheel Love Support Group Kayak Event
When: October 7th from 12-4pm
Where: Rocky Mount YMCA (235 Technology Drive, Rocky Mount Va 24151)
What: We are looking for volunteers to assist with transfers in/out of kayaks, individuals that can help in the pool with keeping participants safe in kayaks.
Who: Any and all folks are welcome to come and participate!
